Barrie MLS NEXT Pro is a professional soccer club competing in MLS Next Pro, the official development league of Major League Soccer. The club is based in Barrie, Ontario and will play its home matches at the new waterfront stadium beginning in 2028. Barrie MLS Next Pro is the second team for Toronto FC.
Barrie MLS NEXT Pro is owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), and commercially operated by Barrie Stadium Group.
Barrie MLS NEXT Pro and Barrie Stadium Group were founded by a group of Barrie business leaders and philanthropists committed to investing in the future of their community. Led by Chairman Jamie Massie and President & CEO Peter Raco, the organization is developing one of Canada's most ambitious sports and infrastructure projects - a purpose-built downtown soccer stadium and the introduction of professional soccer to Barrie through a landmark partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

Peter Raco is the President & CEO of Barrie Stadium Group and Barrie MLS NEXT Pro, where he is leading the development of one of Canada's most ambitious sports and infrastructure projects—a purpose-built downtown soccer stadium and the introduction of professional soccer to Barrie through a landmark partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.
Peter is a founder and former President & CEO of Simcoe County Rovers FC, leading the club to multiple league and national championships while establishing one of Canada's leading player development organizations. He has also advised various Canadian soccer and professional sports organizations.
Previously, Peter served as President of Vanguard Alliance Group, a commercial real estate investment and advisory firm, a Director of Corporate Finance at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), and spent nearly a decade with KPMG in Toronto's Management Consulting practice.
Peter is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and completed Cornell University's Commercial Real Estate Program.

Yes. Barrie MLS NEXT Pro is an official affiliate and the second team of Toronto FC. This partnership provides access to player development resources, coaching infrastructure, and the full support of Canada’s most successful soccer club, Toronto FC.
Barrie MLS NEXT Pro will play at the new waterfront stadium located in Downtown Barrie, steps from Kempenfelt Bay. Barrie Stadium will be built in the heart of Barrie’s downtown core at Dunlop and Bradford streets.
The stadium has a permanent capacity of 3,500 seats, with the ability to expand to over 6,500 for sporting events, and 8,500 for concerts.
The stadium will feature executive suites, a premium club lounge, field-side seating, a fully covered grandstand, and a rooftop terrace overlooking Kempenfelt Bay. It is also designed as a year-round community venue, hosting concerts, festivals, and events beyond match days.
The stadium is scheduled to March 2028
